Our partner: Our partner is looking for a Production Controller to join their team, with a focus on managing backlist colour titles. This is a varied position where you will be involved in all aspects of the production process, from preparing files to liaising with suppliers and ensuring projects are delivered smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing reprint file workflows, working closely with creative teams to ensure accuracy at every stage.
- Coordinating with colleagues across departments and with external suppliers to confirm material requirements and share information clearly.
- Taking responsibility for shipping arrangements on all production orders.
- Keeping the production team and wider business updated on schedules and product development.
- Supporting the office with general administrative tasks when required.
Experience and skills that will deliver success in this role: We’re looking for someone with production experience in publishing, ideally with a background in illustrated or novelty formats. You’ll be proactive, organised, and ready to play a key role in the team’s success.
- A solid background in book production, ideally with experience in children’s publishing.
- Confidence in handling supplier relationships and negotiating effectively.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to balance several projects at once.
- A clear understanding of how to plan and manage production schedules and workflows.
- Knowledge of safety standards and testing procedures for children’s products would be an advantage.
